Masciarelli
The Azienda Agricola Masciarelli is estabilished in San Martino in 1978 by Gianni Masciarelli and starts producing wines in 1981. Today the Masciarelli winery is active in producing wine, and it is also dedicated to Wine Tourism tanks to the purchase and careful restauration of the Masciarelli Palace “Castello di Semivicoli”. Gianni Masciarelli inherited from is grandfather Giovanni the passion for the vineyards and for wine. In the old cellar of his grandfather, who was producing small quantities of wine for his passion, Gianni Masciarelli started creating his wines. In 1987 Gianni met Marina Cvetic and she is today the main representative of the winery and today the Masciarelli winery owns around 320 hectares, all cultivated with wineyards, scattered in 14 different towns in the 4 Abruzzo provinces.
Abruzzo
The region is situated at the centre of the Italian peninsula facing the Adriatic. Abruzzo contains some of Italy's tallest mountains. The climate of Abruzzo is Mediterranean and mild thanks to the sea. Inside the region the climate is continental with cold winters and very hot summers. Rains and snows are very abundant during the winter. During the summer the climate is dried.
